French Guiana has officially joined the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) as an Associate Member, marking a significant step toward stronger regional digital co-operation.
The membership, which was approved by CTU Ministers in Kingston, Jamaica in October 2025, opens new opportunities for collaboration in technology, cybersecurity, and digital governance across the Caribbean.
Senator the Honourable Dominic Smith, Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence and CTU President, welcomed the development, describing French Guiana as a strong and strategic addition to the Union’s 21 member states.
