Sale of Government Property to Public Officers and the Public

  • Eligible public officers in authorised occupation may be given first option to purchase.
  • Vacant, dilapidated or unauthorised-tenancy quarters may be sold via public auction.
  • Official residences such as President’s House, PM’s Residence and the Commissioner of Police residence are not for sale.

Requirements for Sale of Quarters

  • Site visit to assess suitability
  • Application to purchase
  • Proof of legal occupation
  • Survey plan
  • Valuation report
  • Cabinet approval
  • Letter of offer and acceptance
  • 10% deposit
  • Agreement for Sale (to be completed within 90 days)

Lease or Rental of Private Property for Government Use

  • Appropriate location and space
  • Deed or proof of ownership (plus authority if acting on owner's behalf)
  • Town and Country Planning approval for office use
  • Certificate of Completion from Municipal Corporation
  • Rental agreement based on certified valuation
