TTWiFi to expand with 36 New Locations, Close to 300 Nationwide

Citizens will soon have more opportunities to stay connected with the addition of 36 new TTWiFi locations across Trinidad and Tobago. This expansion will bring the total number of no-cost public WiFi hotspots to close to 300 nationwide.

Representing a collaborative effort among the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) and the National Information and Communication Technology Company Limited (iGovTT), the TTWiFi Programme offers this nationwide initiative at no-cost in public spaces at no cost to users.

The new locations will include transport hubs like the Piarco and A.N.R. Robinson International Airports; markets in Arima, Tunapuna, and Chaguanas and popular recreational spots like Castara Beach, Speyside Lookout, and the Calypso Rose Esplanade in Scarborough, Tobago. Citizens will soon be able to stay connected onboard the Tobago Ferry and Water Taxi and in more government offices like the Licensing Offices in San Fernando and Port of Spain, the Elections and Boundaries Commission in Port of Spain, and the Ministry of Social Development’s offices in Tunapuna and Port of Spain.

This project is a central component of the Ministry’s broader digital transformation plans to make Broadband a Public Good for all citizens. Each location will be designed to meet user and community needs, providing access to e-government services, emergency alerts, weather and traffic updates, news, and popular messaging platforms.

The TTWiFi initiative aligns with the goals of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’s Vision 2030 and the National Digital Transformation Strategy 2024–2027, particularly by:

  • Enhancing service delivery across government
  • Increasing digital access, skills, and opportunity
  • Closing socio-economic gaps through greater inclusion

How to connect to existing TTWiFi hotspots:

Connecting to TTWiFi is quick and easy! Look for the “TTWiFi” network in your device’s available Wi-Fi list whenever you’re in a designated TTWiFi-enabled location.
