Caribbean Data Center Association (CDA) Inaugurated, Boosting Digital Collaboration in the Region

Minister of Digital Transformation, Senator the Honourable Hassel Bacchus, represented Trinidad and Tobago at the historic inauguration of the Caribbean Data Center Association (CDA) in Curaçao on March 13 and 14, 2024. The establishment of the Caribbean Data Center Association (CDA) highlights recent regional digital collaboration efforts to provide a robust platform for digital transformation and the development of the regional digital economy.

The CDA presents valuable opportunities for more collaboration between Trinidad and Tobago and Curaçao in initiating the development of a regional data centre/infrastructural ecosystem. The creation of a regional data centre was explored during the Executive Sessions on Digital Leadership that were held in Trinidad in May 2023. The outcome document from the sessions, the Port of Spain Commitment on Digital Integration, was signed by a senior official representing Curaçao.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation looks forward to actively engaging with the CDA and contributing to its objectives of promoting innovation, connectivity, and economic growth across the Caribbean region.
