Government Advances Data-Driven Policymaking Through Data to Policy Workshop

Today marks the first day of the Data to Policy Workshop, as the Government of Trinidad and Tobago continues efforts to strengthen evidence-based policymaking across the public sector. The three-day workshop, taking place from today January 21-23, 2026, brings together senior public sector officials to build practical skills in integrating data and artificial intelligence into policy development and decision making.

Trinidad and Tobago Takes Next Step in Artificial Intelligence Policy Development

Trinidad and Tobago is advancing its efforts to ensure that artificial intelligence (AI) is developed and used in ways that are safe, responsible, and beneficial to all citizens. Through the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence (MPAAI), in partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Government is adopting a structured, evidence-based approach to understanding the country’s readiness for AI.

UNESCO AI Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) - Consultation Sessions

The Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence (MPAAI), in collaboration with the UNESCO Regional Office for the Caribbean, is hosting a series of national stakeholder consultations as part of the UNESCO Artificial Intelligence Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) for Trinidad and Tobago. These consultations represent a critical stage of the national assessment process and are designed to validate survey findings, gather in-depth sectoral insights, and inform the development of a comprehensive, ethical, and forward-looking national approach to artificial intelligence.

Trinidad and Tobago Ignites National AI Readiness Drive with Global Partners

On Wednesday 26th November, 2025, the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence (MPAAI), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), successfully launched the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assessment Initiative at the Government Campus Plaza Auditorium in Port of Spain. The Assessment leverages two globally recognised methodologies: - the UNDP AI Landscape Assessment (AILA) and UNESCO’s Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) to evaluate Trinidad and Tobago’s preparedness for AI adoption across six critical dimensions: governance, policy, digital infrastructure, ethics, institutional capacity and inclusion.

Launch of T&T's National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assessment

The National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assessment is a country-wide initiative led by the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence (MPAAI) to evaluate national readiness for the responsible, ethical, and inclusive adoption of AI. The Assessment provides a structured understanding of the country’s AI ecosystem, governance frameworks, institutional capacity, and societal impact, and will inform policy development, investment priorities, and long-term national AI strategy.
